What to Expect During a Fixed Dental Bridge Procedure
You’ll begin the procedure with a local anesthetic to ensure your comfort. The two teeth on either side of the gap, called abutment teeth, are gently reshaped to make room for the bridge. Impressions of the area are then taken and used to create both a temporary and a permanent bridge. You’ll leave your first visit with a temporary bridge in place, and once the custom permanent bridge is ready from the dental lab, you’ll return to have it securely fitted. With proper care and good oral hygiene, a fixed bridge can last well over a decade.
