EMERGENCY DENTIST SUGAR LAND, TX

What are Dental-Related Emergencies?

Dental emergencies can affect anyone at any time. Emergencies can cause severe pain, distress and frustration regarding your dental and oral health. If left untreated, an emergency can become an even more insidious problem, requiring additional work and even surgery. It is important to call the office as soon as you begin experiencing a dental-related emergency.

Why do you need immediate care for a Dental Emergency?

Some emergencies may seem less important than others. A filling that falls out might not seem like such a big deal at first, until the tooth eventually requires a root canal because of the exposure that it has received without the restoration firmly in place. Any type of emergency, no matter how small or painless, should be looked at by Dr. Sheth as soon as feasibly possible. This prevents the problem from getting to the point where additional treatment is required above what is already needed.

What types of Dental Emergencies are common?

Dr. Sheth is fully equipped to handle many types of dental emergencies and is more than happy to work with new and existing patients. No emergency is too big or too small to call in and schedule an appointment to have treated. Some of the most routine emergencies we see regularly include:

  • Pain
  • Infections and abscesses
  • Broken, cracked or chipped teeth
  • Post-op complications
  • Wisdom tooth-related pain
  • Orthodontic-related emergencies
  • Bleeding and inflammation of the gums
  • Broken or lost restorations (dentures, fillings, crowns, bridge work, veneers)

What can you expect when being seen for a Dental Emergency?

At the first sign of a dental problem, it’s imperative that you call our office. We will work quickly to get you in for an appointment. Most often, an x-ray is required to diagnose the actual problem, though this may not always be necessary depending on the actual emergency. Dr. Sheth will come in and perform an exam to check the health of the teeth and gums. We will create a personalized treatment plan specific to the emergency problem and work quickly to begin this treatment. Dental emergencies should never be ignored and seeking treatment is much easier and more relieving than you might think.

If you have a dental emergency and need to be seen right away, we’re here to take your call and get you scheduled to come in for an appointment.
